Some of my very favorite recipes come into my life via friends. These Secret Ingredient Chocolate Chip Cookies are one of them, courtesy of my neighbor Mickie. She brought them to a pot luck and forever changed my cookie experience and when she told me what made these little works of art so especially delicious I couldn’t believe it!!!!
As if the taste alone weren’t enough to win my heart, I then learned there were only FIVE(!) ingredients required to make the magic happen, hurrah! As busy mamas, simple is our friend. These work so well for any kind of get together and I always know I can pull them together quickly.
Secret Ingredient Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
Okay, so the basic ingredients include a boxed cake mix, pudding, chocolate chips and pecans. If you’re not a nut person you can leave them out, but you’d be surprised how many people tell me they don’t like nuts in their cookies, but love them in these. As for the pudding, I really prefer Butterscotch, but I had the vanilla on hand so I went with that! Either way, they’re still divine!
Okay, ready for the secret ingredient? Here ya’ go:
Mayonnaise….seriously! Don’t make that face, trust me, there is no mayo taste when you’re throwing down these cookies. You won’t believe how quickly people keep swiping another and another. They are THAT good and no one needs to know the secret unless you tell them. 😉 I promise I won’t give you away.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA I TOTALLY did the make a face thing and SO laughed when you said don’t make the face! So weird. But I bet they’re nice and gooie inside, due to the creaminess of the mayo. So weird, so awesome.
