Michelle Myers
AKA ” The Creative One”
So, You Want to Know More About Michelle Myers
I’m Michelle and a talker, so here’s my attempt at short and sweet: I’m a God lover, married to a super patient guy who embraces my constant rabbit trailing and loves me anyway, mom to 4 kidlets, that simultaneously delight and terrify me(hello, a teen and a kindergartner), creative junkie that has more inspiration than completed projects{or should I say time?}, an avid reader that always owes the library money, a textbook extrovert, a recovering “yes” girl that gets anxiety from the thought of raising kids without practical life skills and a gal trying to embrace my story and love the life I’m living!
Just the Facts
I hold a dual degree in Education and Human Resource Management and I am former teacher and education trainer. I’ve been published in education journals and currently freelance write for regional real estate publications. I love to speak to community groups and non-profits, especially when I’m able to share my passion for encouraging women.
In recent years, I’ve also explored the world of social media management working as an account manager in a virtual marketing firm. Now, as co-founder of Sunshine and Hurricanes.com I’m bringing all my worlds together and I couldn’t be happier.
A Few Fun Facts
So, why am I “the creative one”? Well, if you take a look at the pic above, you’ll get some idea. Yes, my family has done themed Halloween costumes for years and I love making the costumes. Clearly, not everyone is as enthusiastic about it as I am.
I’m also crafty in many other ways from home decorating and party planning to pulling together my church’s VBS program each year. I just really enjoy making life a little more colorful and fun.
I’m also an extrovert. People seem to sense this about me, because wherever I go, I always end up in the most interesting conversations. It definitely means my life is never dull.
My Favorite Posts:
My oldest is 15 and transitioning into the tween and teen years with her was not as easy as I expected. But it has also been more fun and fulfilling than I expected. There was a lot I had to learn about our changing relationship and how to make sure that even though she was growing-up, we didn’t have to grow apart. Helping other parents to stay close with their kids was important to me and so that is why this is one of my favorite posts.
10 Ways To Build A Rock Solid Relationship With Your Teen (or Tween)
I’m very passionate about giving back. That may mean volunteering at my child’s school, working for my church or participating in service projects in my community. I believe that raising kind kids who are aware of the needs around them and are willing to step in and help others is one of our most important jobs as parents.
I love being a mom and one of my favorite times has always been summer. Unlike during the school year with it’s busy schedules and structured days with us all running of in our separate directions each day, the summer lets us slow down and just enjoy time together. That is why this post is probably one of the most personal.
